Yves recieved his B.S. degree of Biochemistry at University of Science and Technology of China, School of Life Sciences, National Laboratory for Physical Sciences at Microscale, 2006. He enrolled in the PhD. program of Department of Biochemistry, program in structural biology and biophysics (SBB) in 2006.

He is currently working on a joint project between Dr. David Beratan and Dr. Eric Toone. This project utilizes isothermal titration calorimetry (ITC) and computer simulation to study the solvent effect in a synthetic host-guest system: cucurbit[7]uril (CB[7]) - bicyclo(2.2.2)octane-1,4-diol (BCO). By comparing the results from experiments and simulations, not only can we probe for detailed binding mechanisms, we can also evaluate the performances of current water models, such as TIP4P.
