Trinity Deans' Summer Research Fellowship
The URS Office is now accepting applications for Trinity Deans' Summer Research Fellowships. The deadline for receiving applications is Friday, March 5. Students whose summer research is part of a Graduation with Distinction project are encouraged to apply, but all non-graduating Trinity students are eligible to submit applications. The awards provide up to $2500 toward reasonable expenses connected with a faculty-guided undergraduate research project on or off campus. (Note that non-graduating Pratt students may apply for a Deans' Summer Research Fellowship if they are conducting research on campus with a faculty member in and as part of a second major in Trinity College of Arts & Sciences.)
Trinity College offers these fellowships to support undergraduates in research that might not otherwise be possible. Thus, students may use the funds toward room and board if staying in Durham to be engaged in their research or toward travel and lodging costs if their research requires their using archives or other resources away from campus, including locations outside the U.S. Students may not be enrolled in courses during the research period specified in the application nor may they receive compensation during that period. More information about the Deans' Summer Research Fellowship is available here.
Information on additional research funding opportunities for the summer, including the Benenson Awards in the Arts, the Howard Hughes research programs, the Mellon Mays Program, and specific departmental funding opportunities such as the Mellon Awards in Latin American and Caribbean Studies and the Duke University Center for International Studies can be found on the URS Office website at <http://undergraduateresearch.duke.edu/>.
