Catalytic Dehydrative SN2' Reactions: Mechanistic and Synthetic Implications
- Abstract:
Our lab has been exploring catalytic reactions of allylic and propargylic alcohols. These compounds have been found to be excellent substrates for dehydrative transformations when allowed to react with nucleophiles in the presence of late transition metal catalysts. A variety of easily prepared diols and triols have been demonstrated to provide a broad array of structurally diverse products. In this talk, the development of these transformations, mechanistic studies, and synthetic applications will be presented.
